The Typsy Gypsys won 2nd place in the small troupe category of The Choreography  Project for Middle Eastern Dance 2011 Troupe Competition!!

The Typsy Gypsys are Austin's own freestyle bellydance troupe--which basically means we do anything we want, ranging from Raqs Sharqi to Fusion to American Tribal Style to Raq n Roll to Gypsy!  Members Sahhira, Liora, and Josephine appear regularly around Austin, throughout Texas, and anywhere else our wanderlust takes us.  Sonya (far left), alas, has followed her dream and has moved to North Carolina.

Now that we're on Weebly, we can say that "The Typsy Gypsys wobble but rarely fall over!"  Credit for this cleverness goes to Sonya.  Sonya also says we're oenophiles...I think we've been discovered.
